Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a type of financial aid awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and meet certain eligibility requirements.
Dates for Financial Aid Distribution
The awards listed represent the per semester award based on your EFC (Estimated Family Contribution), which was listed on your Student Aid Report. Full-time status is defined as at least 12 credits, 3/4 time is 9-11 credits, and half-time is 6-8.5 credits.
Students who have been denied Federal and/or State Financial Aid because they have not met the requirements of the SAP policy are offered the opportunity to submit an appeal to be considered for a Financial Aid probationary status.

Summer Pell and TAP Awards for Undergraduate Students
The TEACH Grant Program is a federal program that provides grants of up to $4,000 per year to undergraduate students preparing to be teachers in a high-need field.
Federal funds (Pell, SEOG, Direct Loans, etc...) are awarded with the expectation that you attend your classes and remain in school for the period of enrollment. If you withdraw (officially or unofficially), Federal regulations requires the College to calculate your eligibility for payment based upon the number of days you actually attended.
Priority Deadlines to Submit Verification Documentation for the 2023–2024 FAFSA
Students must be registered for the term of submission and have fully submitted all required documentation by the date according to their last term of attendance.
- Summer 2023 deadline is August 31, 2023
- Fall 2023 deadline is December 1, 2023
- Spring 2024 deadline is May 16, 2024
The 2024–2025 FAFSA will be available December 2023.
Note: Established federal processing deadlines prohibit the college from processing a submitted FAFSA after the student's last date of enrollment. Students who have not filed a FAFSA for the 2023-2024 academic year and who are no longer enrolled for the academic year may have missed the deadline to be considered for Federal Student Aid programs for the 2023-2024 academic year.

FAFSA Guide and the FAFSA Simplification Act
The FAFSA Simplification Act has recently been passed by Congress to streamline the financial aid process for students and families. Among other key changes this legislation will reduce the total number of questions students see when filing the FAFSA, attempts to clarify the questions that will be asked, and will aim to increase Federal Pell Grant eligibility.
