Institutional Advancement recognizes the critical importance of philanthropic contributions to the continued existence of the College. Institutional Advancement further recognizes the responsibility to ensure that gifts from external sources:

  • Are appropriate to the mission of the College;
  • Do not carry restrictions or conditions that may compromise the College.
  • Are legal;
  • Are from donors whose intent is charitable; and
  • Administered to protect the donor’s rights and wishes.

Institutional Advancement adheres to the code of ethics and professional standards approved by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the National Planned Giving Council (NPGC), and the Donor Bill of Rights.

The Fund for York provides flexible resources that support scholarships, academic programs, and student success initiatives across the college.

With the support of research opportunities and scholarships during her time at York, Jasmin Budhan developed a strong foundation in geoscience and sustainability. After graduating, she earned a master’s degree from Tufts University and now works as a materials analyst helping organizations develop sustainable building solutions.

Political Science | York College Alumnus

Scholarship support and mentorship programs at York College helped Gregory Brown accelerate his academic journey, allowing him to graduate early and pursue law school. After earning his law degree from St. John’s University, he passed the bar exam at just 22 years old and now works as an attorney in Manhattan, inspiring the next generation of York students.

Port Authority Launches
Aviation Scholarship Program

Through a partnership between York College and the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, students from surrounding communities now have access to full-tuition scholarships to pursue careers in aviation and airport operations. In addition to financial support, scholars receive internships and professional experience connected to the redevelopment of JFK Airport—creating a direct pathway from education to high-demand aviation careers

York Political Science student Sayyora Khaydarova received the Peter Ranis Scholarship in recognition of her academic achievements and passion for international diplomacy. After graduating from York College, she continued her studies in graduate school while pursuing her goal of working in international affairs.
