Throughout my career in education, I have supported students in NYC, particularly in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and especially South Queens, who are in greatest need in our educational system. I work with teachers to help create student-centered classrooms where all stakeholders believe all students can succeed. My work encompasses research-based, high quality professional development for teachers at the 7-12 and college levels, and I am currently expanding to include grades 1-6 in my practice. Most of my time is spent in K – 12 schools, employing professional development and best practices with student teachers and cooperating teachers, and researching their impacts. The work I do with K-12 schools inspires my teaching at York and shapes my service to the College as I share research-based insights about best practices for teaching, fieldwork, and assessment with my colleagues and the York community.
