The physical Library is closed until further notice, and all library services have moved online.
Librarians are working offsite and can be reached by chat or via email. Chat hours are between 8:30am-8pm Mon-Fri and 10am-4pm on Saturday. Use the chatbox on the right side of this page, or try our FAQs. During Spring Break (April 8-10), chat hours will be 9am-5pm.
Library materials and resources can be accessed from off-campus using the barcode on the back of your York ID. If you have problems logging in, please email us or use the chatbox on the right-hand side of the page. To learn more about what resources are available to support distance learning, visit our remote resources research guide.
Barcode Activation and Circulation Help
If you need to activate your barcode remotely, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions about library blocks, fines, or other circulation and reserve questions? Circulation staff will be available to answer your questions via email Mon-Thurs 8:30am-10pm, Fridays 8:30am-8pm, and Saturdays 9am-5pm. You can also message a staff member on our Facebook page.
Fines and Renewals
In recognition of the extraordinary circumstances, overdue and recall fines will not be charged for books, DVDs, or equipment for the rest of the semester. Books from the stacks can be renewed up to nine times as long as another library patron does place a recall. CUNY will be auto-renewing books and materials and waiving fines. These changes apply to faculty, staff, and students. To learn more, visit CUNY's statement on the continuity of library services.
