Code of Conduct

This Model Code of Conduct applies to all CUNY employees and strictly prohibits conflicts of interest between financial aid responsibilities and relationships with student loan lenders. Employees may not accept gifts, compensation, advisory board payments, or anything of value from lenders, and CUNY may not engage in revenue sharing, preferred lender lists, opportunity loan agreements, or lender-directed advantages. CUNY must remain neutral in loan processes, cannot allow lender staffing in financial aid offices, and must ensure students independently select lenders without institutional influence.
