  • New  Editor (Layout)- Plone Mosaic editor is a visual editor for pages rendered using Blocks. It relies on a grid system to place tiles onto a page in an intuitive, WYSIWYG, drag-and-drop manner. Using Mosaic Editor, it is easy to compose pages with complex, balanced and visually appealing layouts.  Create new layouts quickly and on a per-page basis. You can save and reuse them elsewhere on your site whenever you need to.
  • New Editors (Web) - TinyMCE 4, the gold standard in WYSIWYG web editors. Coupled with new tools to insert links and images, it's easier than ever to craft and customize content.
  • Bulk Content Editing - Perform bulk operations to add multiple files and images at once, assign keywords, apply workflow, rename, cut, copy, and delete. Use query filters to quickly find, sort, reorder, and select specific content.
  • Social Media Integration - Content shines when you share, with its included Facebook OpenGraph meta tags and Twitter card support.
  • Enhanced UI: New toolbar, new modals, better related items widget, better image widget with cropping.
  • Focal point: Focal point support gives designers the ability to provide many image sizes without expecting their content editors to crop the images to the various target sizes. Content managers just need to select the area on the uploaded image that should be the focal point and the image will be focused automatically to that and cropped around that point on various sizes.
  • Responsive images: Scale up images to the most appropriate image size depending on the screen size of the device viewing the image. In addition, loading the larger image is only done once the image is scrolled to.
  • Recycling Bin: Users feel more safe using a recycling bin and this prevents potential issues when trying to use ZODB transaction undo.

  • Preview - If one of your pages doesn’t look right, you can find out before it’s too late. Page Preview allows you to see what your published pages will look like while they’re still private, which could save you lots of embarrassment.
  • Accessible - We continues to fulfill the promise of maximizing the user experience by ensuring full accessibility compliance to the highest standards with support for WCAG 2.0 (level AA), WAI-ARIA, and ATAG 2.0.
  • Social Media Integration - Content shines when you share, with its included Facebook OpenGraph meta tags and Twitter card support.
  • Multilingual - Plone 5 is multilingual out of the box. Its user interface comes with more than 40 language translations and tools to add new translations.
  • Cross Site Request Forgery Protection - Security is never an afterthought. this upgrade includes automatic CSRF (cross-site request forgery) protection and is the only content management system with CSRF protection integrated into the database layer. This automatic protection extends to the add-ons installed on your site. Combined with its default use of the ZODB, a NoSQL database, Plone 5 is neither subject to SQL injection attacks nor vulnerable through less-carefully crafted add-ons, both are common attack vectors against other content management systems.
  • Chameleon Templating Engine - Plone 5 sites are 15%-20% faster now with the new Chameleon templating engine, a fully backwards-compatible replacement that works with existing templates.
