Voicemail Access on campus and remotely

Use these step by step instructions for setting up and accessing your voicemail on your work phones or for a Virtual Voice Mailbox.

Note: You may get email messages indicating mailbox quota warnings. You should be deleting voicemail messages regularly. Deleted voicemail messages are removed from the system instantly and cannot be retrieve at a later date.

Voice Mail

Setting Up Voicemail

  • Press the Messages button
  • Enter your default PIN 1234#
  • Record your Name
  • Record your Greeting
  • Change your Temporary PIN
  • Confirm PIN
  • Press # to confirm Directory Listing

Note: If you hang up before completing setup, you need to repeat setup again.

Internal Sign-on

From your VoIP phone:

  • Press Messages button
  • Enter your PIN, #

From another phone:

  • Press Messages
  • Press *key

Enter your 4-digit extension, PIN, # - Note: The phone system refers to this 4-digit ext. as your ID

Off Campus Voicemail Access

Dial your direct number (Your phone will ring 4 times before pickup)

  • Press * key when you hear your greeting
  • Enter your 4-digit extension # - Note: The phone system refers to this 4-digit ext. as your ID
  • Enter your PIN, #

Or Dial the main number (718) 262-2000 (Will not have to wait for 4 rings)

  • Press # key when you hear main greeting
  • Enter your 4-digit extension # - Note: The phone system refers to this 4-digit ext. as your ID
  • Enter your PIN, #

4-1-1 Re-record Standard Greeting

4-1-2 Re-record Alternate Greeting

4-3-2 Re-record Name

Leaving Voice Mail for Adjuncts Mail Box

Anyone needing to leave a message for an Adjunct with a virtual voice mail box can dial the main number (718)262-2000

As soon as the main greeting starts press the 4 digit Adjunct virtual voice mail box and leave a message. 

Direct to Voicemail

To leave someone a voicemail message without having to call them:

  • Press * + 4-digit extension

Check Messages

To check for messages after logging in:

  • Press 1 to listen to new messages
  • Press 3, then 1 to review saved messages
  • Press 3, then 2, then 1 to listen to deleted messages

The following options can be used while listening to your mail:

1 Restart

2 Save

3 Delete

4 Slow Playback

5 Change Volume

6 Fast Playback

7 Rewind

8 Pause or Resume

9 Fast forward-End

# Skip Message

## Keep Msg. New

After listening to messages:

1 Replay

2 Save

3 Delete

4 Reply

5 Forward

6 Mark As New

7 Skip Back

8 Msg. Properties
