Institutional Advancement recognizes the critical importance of philanthropic contributions to the continued existence of the College. Institutional Advancement further recognizes the responsibility to ensure that gifts from external sources:

Are appropriate to the mission of the College;
Do not carry restrictions or conditions that may compromise the College.
Are legal;
Are from donors whose intent is charitable; and
Administered to protect the donor’s rights and wishes.

Institutional Advancement adheres to the code of ethics and professional standards approved by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the National Planned Giving Council (NPGC), and the Donor Bill of Rights.

Graduating Student Secures Meaningful Internship Ahead of Commencement

Health Science | York College Alumnus

Joah Joseph, a graduating York College health science student and former Student Government leader, secured a paid summer internship with Queens Community House before commencement. Her story highlights the impact of mentorship, campus engagement, the ACE Program, and York’s 4+1 academic pathway as she prepares to pursue graduate study in policy and management.

Gregory Brown, Esq.

Political Science | York College Alumnus

Scholarship support and mentorship programs at York College helped Gregory Brown accelerate his academic journey, allowing him to graduate early and pursue law school. After earning his law degree from St. John’s University, he passed the bar exam at just 22 years old and now works as an attorney in Manhattan, inspiring the next generation of York students.

Airport Community Foundation Donates $5,000 to Support York College Aviation Students

The Airport Community Foundation donated $5,000 to the York College Aviation Foundation to support students in York’s Aviation Management program. The partnership grew through connections between York College and the airport community, giving students opportunities to volunteer at aviation-related events, build professional networks, and gain exposure to careers in the field. The gift reflects ACF’s continued commitment to supporting local students, scholarships, and aviation career pathways.

York College Students Attend France-Senegal World Cup Match at MetLife Stadium

York College soccer players joined students from across New York City for a World Cup group-stage match between France and Senegal at MetLife Stadium. Sponsored through a Jamaica YMCA and Airbnb student ticket initiative, the experience gave 17 York students the chance to witness one of the world’s biggest sporting events firsthand while representing One York beyond campus
