In 1921, the affluent town of Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma suffered one of the most vicious race riots in U.S. history. Hundreds of people were killed and the promise of what could be, destroyed.

 It is arguably one of the nation’s most under reported tragedies. Join us for a lecture featuring Dr. George White, Chair of the Department of History and Philosophy as he discusses the role of race, prejudice and fake news in the destruction of the town commonly referred to as “Black Wall Street”.
