Math Proficiency Workshop

The Math Proficiency (Elementary Algebra) workshop is for students who are not certified as math proficient based on their high school and/or academic records and need to be certified in order to enroll at York College.

Workshop Details

All Workshops Are Free
Allows students to achieve required math proficiency to become eligible to enroll at York.
Workshops contain quizzes, assignments, and 3 required in-person exams.
Workshops typically run for two weeks, 8 days, Mondays to Fridays, days or evenings.
Workshops typically run from June through July for fall semester enrollment and January for spring.
Passing a workshop is based on attendance and successfully completing assignments and 3 in-person exams.

Summer 2026 Math Proficiency Workshop Offering

June 12 to June 24, Monday to Friday, Daily mandatory online live sessions from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM with your instructor. Online work—including homework and assignments—to be completed independently on your own time.

Exams: Three required in-person exams at York Campus (No makeup exams will be offered)

Exam 1: Wednesday, June 17, 2026
Exam 2: Tuesday, June 23, 2026
Exam 3: Wednesday, June 24, 2026

July 20 to July 29, Monday to Friday, Daily mandatory online live sessions from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM with your instructor. Online work—including homework and assignments—to be completed independently on your own time.

Exams: Three required in-person exams at York Campus (No makeup exams will be offered)

Exam 1: Thursday, July 23, 2026
Exam 2: Tuesday, July 28, 2026
Exam 3: Wednesday, July 29, 2026

Workshop Completion: Workshop cannot be passed without taking the three required in-person exams
