The Shanice Angel Greene Scholarship Award Fund
Memorial fund for Shanice Angel Greene

The purpose of this scholarship is to provide support for promising York College students in the fields of Nursing, Physician Assistant, Psychology, and Sociology to honor the memory and legacy of former York College student Shanice Angel Greene.
About Shanice

Shanice Angel Greene was born in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on 29th December 1995. At 4 years old, she migrated to Far Rockaway, NY where she resided with her father, grandmother, and aunts until her untimely death at just age 22. During her short life, Shanice was always committed to helping others. Her dream was to open her own mental health practice because she recognized the dire need for psychological support especially among inner-city youth.
In preparation for her chosen career, Shanice attended the Beach Chanel High School for Science and Technology and later the City Alternative High School. At the time of her death, she was enrolled as a Psychology major at York College, the City University of New York.
She aspired to be a beacon of light in her community. With a heart for public service, she also started training in customer relations and worked part time as an associate for Nespresso. She was so full of promise but sadly she was never able to accomplish her big dreams. It is hoped that this scholarship would allow promising students to continue Shanice’s path and blaze the trail that she was only able to start.
The family of Shanice Greene also hopes that through this scholarship they can raise awareness to the importance of training on CPR and the use of a defibrillator.
