Turnitin in Bb via LTI

Information on how to use Turnitin in Bb.

Turnitin is a tool to check the originality of papers and course work submitted by students and more.

Starting on July 28, 2022, Turnitin integration in Bb is switched from a building block to a LTI tool.  (LTI denotes Learning Tools Interoperability. It is a standard developed by IMS Global Learning Consortium to enable learning tools from different vendors to be embedded in a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Blackboard.)

The transition to Turnitin LTI integration introduces some differences in the user interface. This web page will guide you to recognize the changes and use the Turnitin LTI in Bb.

Important Notes:

  • You cannot re-use the Turnitin assignments copied over from your previous courses as they were through a totally different way of integration. You will need to create new Turnitin assignments following the steps described in "Creating a Turnitin Assignment" below.
  • There is no link to Turnitin Assignments from "Course Management" > "Course Tools."  You will access and grade Turnitin assignments from the Turnitin assignment links.
  • You can still access and view student papers submitted in previous semesters from the Grade Center in these courses.
