The Department of Chemistry at York College of The City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure track position in Pharmaceutical Science at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The Department offers a BS in Chemistry, and a BS and MS in Pharmaceutical Sciences.There is extensive state of the art instrumentation for teaching and research. Election to the faculty of CUNY's consortial Ph.D. program is also possible. Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching and the capability of instituting and maintaining an externally funded, innovative research program. Areas of particular interest are expertise in industrial and physical pharmacy. Instructional responsibilities will include teaching courses in field of expertise, as well as other chemistry courses. Anticipated appointment date is September 1, 2016.Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Post-doctoral or related industrial experience is preferred, as is the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.Two (2) years experience in development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products preferred.
