IP Eanes' Listening Tour

We are One York!

In an effort to provide the York Community with direct access to your Interim President, to explore the campus and meet people where they are, and to begin to spread the message that we can be united under the common goal of student success as “One York,” I have decided to launch a Listening Tour.

What does this mean & Why should I participate?

It’s simple! The more I listen the more I learn. The more I learn the better I can serve York. By participating in one of the below options, you can share your vision for “One York.” I invite you to share both the ‘thorns and roses’ of the community. What do you love about York? What keeps you here? Why don’t our students retain? Who inspires you here? What would you change tomorrow if you had the ability? What do you wish I knew as President?

When & How?

I will begin my listening tour in October and end in December after finals.

In Person

Chat with President Eanes: Individual meetings. 30 minute appointments; one-on-one opportunity to share. Send an email to President@York.cuny.edu with your requested time and you will receive an email confirmation for your meeting.

  • November 21                                       2pm - 4:30pm

Groups

Or if none of these in person options work, send me an email at President@york.cuny.edu

What to expect?

I’m here to listen, take notes and build relationships. I want to hear the positive and negative. Whatever is on your mind! There is no agenda and no pre-set topics.

What will I do with the knowledge you share?

I hope to learn about the rich history of York and understand firsthand what matters to the community. As we continue to develop the strategic plan and seek consultation on the financial plan, I hope your feedback will inform these documents and the priorities we set as a campus moving forward. I also desire to share the general themes in a public forum in early spring, which will be announced before the end of the semester. As I complete my first month, I am grateful for the warm embrace of this community. I am here to serve you and look forward to getting to know many of you this semester through this Listening Tour.

I encourage you to follow me on social media as we expand our outreach and share information! Be sure to use the hashtag #WeAreOneYork #CUNY
