Office of the President

The Office of the President fosters student success by providing strategic vision, leadership, and support to the College’s diverse stakeholders.

This year, we have enrolled an impressive number of new and better prepared students. We are acquainting our newest students, faculty and staff with campus programs and services, and are pleased that they have joined us. York continues to be “onthemove,” and I am pleased to share with you some of the recent and future activities and events at the College.

Fall 2008 Convocation Letter

For the second consecutive year, we have enrolled an impressive number of new students who are prepared and ready to tackle the rigors of college. And we are pleased that we are prepared to help them fulfill their academic challenges since we have increased our faculty ranks by an unprecedented twenty-five percent. These outstanding new members of our faculty will be work- ing hard with our students to keep them—and York "onthemove."

Response to Adjunct Petition Regarding Payroll Delays

While members of the York College Administration and I have had several meetings with the PSC chapter representatives on this matter, including the Labor Management meeting on October 11, 2012, I would like to give everyone the opportunity to have your questions directly answered by me or other members of my team.

“One of the earliest campus leadership decisions I made as Chancellor was appointing Dr. Berenecea Johnson Eanes president of York College, a role in which she served on an interim basis for the 2019-2020 academic year before her permanent appointment a year later.

Legal Affairs and Labor Relations

The Office of Legal Affairs and Labor Relations serves as counsel to York College and The Office of the President, in partnership with and under the direction of the CUNY Office of General Counsel.

Convocation and Investiture Fill York with Joy as 8th President is Installed

August was a momentous month at York College as the campus prepared to welcome students for the fall semester and concluded with a historic celebration: the joint Convocation and Investiture of Dr. Claudia V. Schrader as the 8th president of the 59-year-old CUNY institution.

Diversity and Compliance

The Compliance and Diversity Office is responsible for administering the CUNY York College recruitment, hiring, appointment, and equal opportunity ensuring compliance with related laws, rules, and regulations dealing with human rights.

External Relations

The Office of Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives is responsible for planning, developing, and directing all aspects and phases of the college’s government relations and community engagement operations.
