1.3.5 Organizing the menu in sections and inspecting your course space setup

Transcript

Person 1 (00:00):
Organizing the menu in sections and inspecting your course space setup. In the York College course default menu, the dashboard, schedule and syllabus and my grades links are grouped into one section on the top of the menu, as these are the three areas students will visit most frequently to be informed about their learning. To quickly see what is new in the course, to learn what is next and what they need to do when and where in the course, and to see where they stand in terms of grades, they will visit this section. A divider separates this first section from the next one. To add a divider, use the plus sign in the menu. To delete one, click on the hidden action button to its right. To change the position of a divider, use the hidden reorder button on its left. All done? Any icon on the right of a link that looks like a square box with a diagonal warns you that you have not checked the Make Available to Users checkbox when you created the link and the area. Click on the hidden action button on the right of the link, then on Show Link. For final inspection of the setup of your course space, click once again the One Eye button in the right corner under the blue CUNY banner. If all is done right, all links needed to start the semester should now be there. And clicking on them, you and your students should see the syllabus, any other course materials you made available, a starting version of your course schedule, the syllabus quiz, and your contact info.
