What's in your Crystal Ball?
Hey Cardinals!
The first week of classes are behind you and today you enter your second week. As fate would have it today is also Groundhog Day. Folklore has it that if the groundhog sees his shadow (sunny day), it means six more weeks of winter; if he doesn't (cloudy), an early spring is coming.
I don’t know about you, but I always hope that he doesn’t see is shadow. That’s crazy right? A shadow predicting when winter might end. But here is the thing: your success this semester isn’t about a shadow or anything else predicting your future. It’s about you deciding what you see ahead of you.
Don’t let you doubts, challenges, the work ahead overshadow your semester. And don’t let your challenges as a sign to give up and hide. See it as confirmation that you’re standing in the light, because shadows only appear when something bright is shining behind you. And that bright light is the incredible drive inside of you AND your purpose AND it is all the support you have at York College.
Continue to step into the semester with purpose. Set the tone, set your pace, and set your vision. Whether you’re starting a new major, tackling tough classes, or gearing up for graduation, your future is not left to chance—it’s shaped by every choice you make now.
Here’s to seeing possibility, not prediction of a strong, successful semester ahead.
