Too Legit to Quit

It’s that time of the year when there are so many special days to celebrate! I know you know about Hanukkah, Christmas, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, New Year’s Day and Three Kings Day.  But I bet you didn’t know about Quitter’s Day.

Dear Cardinals,

It’s that time of the year when there are so many special days to celebrate! I know you know about Hanukkah, Christmas, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa, New Year’s Day and Three Kings Day.  But I bet you didn’t know about Quitter’s Day

Quitter’s Day is the second Friday in January, and it is the day most people give up on their New Year’s resolutions. Why? Because the gym feels far away, the salad tastes boring, they can’t seem to tear themselves away from social media, and they haven’t put any money in their savings account like the promised they would. The term Quitter’s Day came from a fitness company app that noticed by mid-January, people stop logging workouts.

But here’s the thing: You’re not ‘most people.’  You didn’t make a resolution to earn your college degree; you made it your mission.   Success isn’t about never slipping—it’s about never staying down. So, if you if you didn’t do as well as you thought you would do on your final exams or your final grade in your class, keep moving forward.  Or maybe you had a difficult semester, and you are telling yourself that you are not cut out for this, keep moving forward.

Quitting is not an option or as MC Hammer would sing back in the day: You are too legit to quit Every day you choose to keep going, you’re building the future you deserve. Let’s make today, tomorrow, Quitter’s Day and in fact every day the day you recommit to your mission.  Remember that where you are going, is closer than where you are coming from.

Wishing you a joyous holiday season!

P.S. Avoid Quitter’s Day and Register for Classes!

The next virtual session (V-READY) [remove stops, financial aid information, advisement and registration] is on January 13th.  Tap in.

P.S.S. Shout out to the 3354 students who have already registered for the spring semester! You are on a mission!
