Couch Potato?
Dear Cardinals,
I know, you probably think I am a couch potato and that all I do is watch TV. Last week I talked about one of my favorite movies and this week, I am talking about one of my favorite series. But hear me out!
If you ever watched Game of Thrones, you know about the Wall—massive, intimidating, and built to seem impossible to break through. For a long time, it stood as a symbol of limits and separation. But here’s the thing: even that Wall eventually came down. Not because it was easy, but because persistence, strategy, and determination made the difference.
Many of you are facing your own “walls” right now. Maybe it’s a tough class, self‑doubt, outside responsibilities, or feeling unsure about what comes next. These challenges can feel just as imposing—but they are not permanent.
As you move through spring break, I encourage you not to see it only as time to rest (though rest matters) but a time to get ready to Spring forward into the rest of the semester.
When classes resume, come back with intention. Fully flex all your knowledge and skills; and if you need to, reset your mindset, refocus your goals, and prepare to break through whatever has been holding you back.
The finish line is approaching, keep pushing. The results may not be loud or immediate, —but persistence adds up. Remember that walls crack before they fall.
Enjoy your Spring Break!
See you soon,
President Schrader
