Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program
CSTEP Program Overview and Program Benefits

The Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) is a New York State Education Department (NYSED) grant-funded initiative program. CSTEP provides a broad range of services and opportunities designed to support academic excellence and professional development. Through individualized advising, skill-building workshops, research and internship placements, and community engagement, CSTEP equips students with the tools they need to reach their academic and career goals.
CSTEP’s Purpose
The purpose of the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) is to expand access and opportunity for students from economically disadvantaged and historically underrepresented backgrounds who seek careers in the science, technology, engineering, mathematics, health, and licensed professional fields. CSTEP supports students’ academic and professional growth through comprehensive enrichment services—including hands‑on learning, research engagement, skill‑building workshops, and career development experiences. By fostering strong academic preparation and creating meaningful pathways to advanced study, professional licensure, and workforce readiness, CSTEP aims to increase the number of diverse leaders contributing to STEM and health‑related professions.
