A Summer of Astronomy
If you are interested in the universe, stars, and planets, consider signing up for the College Now summer program at York College and earn three college credits.
Students may enroll in one of the following college credit sections of Astronomy 102: Section 1 – 9:00-10:50 or Section 2 – 12:00-1:50.
- July 6 – August 12, 2021
- Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM – 10:50 AM OR 12:00 PM – 1:50 PM
Earn three (3) college credits upon successful completion.
PLEASE NOTE: BOTH SECTIONS ARE THE SAME COURSE SO STUDENTS SHOULD ENROLL IN ONLY ONE CLASS.
ASTR102: Introductory Astronomy: Stars, Galaxies and the Universe (3 college credits, Monday-Thursday) This course teaches basic elements of astronomy and students learn not only how the sky moves and appears, but also how that information forms our model of the Universe.
SECTION 1: ASTR102 Introductory Astronomy: Stars, Galaxies and the Universe (3 college credits, M-TH, 9:00 -10:50)
SECTION 2: ASTR102 Introductory Astronomy: Stars, Galaxies and the Universe (3 college credits, M-TH, 12:00 -1:50)
Eligibility to enroll:
All Students must
- be a New York City public high school student, entering as a senior in September 2021
- have a minimum overall average of 80 and a grade of at least 85 in any science class
