The 2025 S-STEM Scholars Meeting was by invitation only. Principal Investigators nominate scholars from their programs, and only selected scholars are permitted to attend. Two York College students attended and presented posters Four York College S-STEM Scholars attended the three day 2025 S-STEM Scholars Meeting in San Diego from October 2–4, 2025. The event brought together more than 1000 S-STEM scholars and mentors from across the country to share research, exchange ideas, and strengthen the growing S-STEM community.

Converge25: A two-day conference event held at York College. Sponsored by the QED and S-STEM programs. The event brought together young researchers and scholars from the QED REU programs, S-STEM Scholars, and other related initiatives. The keynote talk, “Mentoring that Uplifts Amidst Circumstances that Destroy: Claytor, Malone-Mayes, and the True Legacy of R. L. Moore,” was delivered by Dr. Edray Goins. Six S-STEM scholars presented posters showcasing their research, projects, or internship experiences. The event provided valuable opportunities for students to network and connect with peers who share similar interests in STEM. Students also received constructive feedback from faculty mentors and peers, helping them refine their work and build confidence in presenting their findings. Eight S-STEM scholars participated, and the event was attended by over 50 participants.

Four S-STEM scholars presented their research at the Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The ERN Conference is an annual event hosted by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Equity for Excellence in STEM (EES). It is held for undergraduate and graduate students who participate in NSF-funded programs including S-STEM. The conference typically includes student poster and oral presentations, workshops on graduate school and career preparation, guidance on finding research and international opportunities, and sessions designed to build skills in science presentation and networking. S-STEM Workshop on AI and Adobe Express. Speaker: Dr. Shauna Chung, Adobe Pedagogical Evangelist and former English faculty at New York City College of Technology (CUNY). Several faculty members and STEM majors attended this workshop, which focused on using generative AI and Adobe Express templates to create flyers, presentations, videos, résumés, and other digital materials.

S-STEM Seminar by Guest Speaker: Title: "Efficient and Trustworthy Edge-Assisted Learning on AIoT Devices". Presenter: Dr. Sucheng Yu from Stevens Institute of Technology. Nine S-STEM scholars participated. Faculty and other CS majors also attended the event. This seminar was co-organized with another NSF-funded program, the York CISE Program.
