York College Learning Center

The York College Learning Center offers foundational education and training, advisement and referral services that expand opportunities for marginalized adults to achieve increased independence, to realize life goals, and to become active in civic and workplace responsibilities as individuals, parents, and members of the broader community.

  •  Broaden demographic base and increase the number of constituents served
  •  Enhance advisement and referral services to better serve constituents
  • Report to York leadership on outcomes based on goals
  • Increase Learning Center budget to achieve goals

The Learning Center is a designated Literacy Zone (Literacy for Life) and coordinates with local partners in providing referrals for students and community members to an array of lifelong services. Case management and personal counseling are offered by our multi-lingual staff, in addition to career counseling, job training referrals, and pre-college counseling.

The Learning Center offers adults and older youth (aged 19 and older) the opportunity to continue their education by improving their language, literacy, math, and technology skills, attain a high school equivalency diploma and participate in college and career readiness sessions.

As a grant-funded entity, York College Learning Center provides all services free of charge. Individuals interested in attending classes first must register during our open registration sessions. Please call 718-262-2622 for the registration dates and hours. After registering, there may be a waiting period prior to class enrollment.
