With a strong foundation in information technology and library science, Mr. Sarwar brings a strategic approach to optimizing academic infrastructure through technology. As the primary liaison between York College Library and the Information Technology Department, he drives cross-functional collaboration, aligning institutional goals with digital transformation initiatives. His responsibilities include overseeing the college’s IT infrastructure within the library environment, ensuring seamless connectivity, integrating electronic vendor platforms, and expanding digital access. Mr. Sarwar applies project management best practices to streamline system workflows, enhance service delivery, and support data-driven decision-making. He serves as York College’s representative on the CUNY-wide OLS System Advisory Committee—addressing integrated library system performance and innovation across all campuses—and as a delegate to the University Faculty Senate, contributing to academic policy and governance at the university level. Mr. Sarwar also plays a pivotal role in institutional assessment processes, leading efforts such as the Academic Program Review Self-Study and compiling comprehensive annual statistical reports. Through ongoing collaboration with PSC-CUNY and cross-campus College Laboratory Technician (CLT) union representatives, he advocates for sustainable innovation, workforce development, and organizational resilience.
