Pathways appeals process

In accordance with the CUNY Board of Trustees Resolution on Creating an Efficient Transfer System the President has established a College appeals mechanism for undergraduate students who wish to appeal denial or restriction of transfer credit for courses, in cases in which that credit has been determined through transfer credit evaluation at a college. This process is two-tiered: students must first contact Prof. Kevin Lynch for information regarding the York appeals process. Only after the appeals process at York College has been exhaused can a student contact the CUNY level Pathways appeals office.

Under Pathways, these "gateway" courses carry Pathways credit and also lead you into a major in that discipline:

  • Anthropology 101
  • Biology 201
  • Chemistry 108
  • Economics 102
  • Fine Arts 104
  • Geology 140
  • History 201
  • Mathematics 119 or 121
  • Physics 151
  • Political Science 103
  • Psychology 102
  • Sociology 101.
  • Foreign Language majors can use 101, 102 or 105 in any language.

* Not all majors have gateway courses.
