Jermiah Jones, LCSW
Bachelor of Science, Social Work Graduating Class ‘2018
Jermiah Jones is a licensed clinical social worker and doctoral candidate at Simmons University School of Social Work, expected to graduate in 2026. He serves as the Clinical and Administrative Director of an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program and is the founder of Urban Black Therapy, his private practice. His journey into social work began during an open house at York College, where Dr. Selene T. Rodgers, Ph.D., MSW, LCSW, remarked, “This is your destiny.” Motivated by this encounter, Jermiah earned his Bachelor of Science in Social Work from York College in 2018. He continued his studies at Fordham University, obtaining his Master of Social Work and Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) credentials in 2020. In 2019, he participated in York College’s MSW inaugural Licensing Examination Preparation Summer Bootcamp, which not only equipped him with clinical skills and knowledge to pass his LMSW exam but continues to inform his practice. In March 2025, Jeremiah reached another milestone as a Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW). Jermiah remains connected to the York College community, drawing on his foundational experiences to guide his clinical and academic endeavors.
"York is more than an alma mater to me; its my foundation! Once you are a Cardinal, you are a Cardinal for life!" said Jones.
