Dr. Alicia Wilson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work, bringing over two decades of experience as a mental health clinician and school social worker to her academic role. With a Ph.D in Social Work from Adelphi University, an MSW from New York University, and a BA in Psychology from Russell Sage College, Dr. Wilson's expertise is grounded in a strong educational foundation. Her research focuses on implementing Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) in NYC charter schools, with a goal of promoting educational equity and access. Driven by her passion for addressing the complex needs of marginalized youth, Dr. Wilson's work combines research, policy, and practice to develop evidence-based solutions. Notably, she has created training curricula to address mental health disparities in NYC public schools. As an educator, Dr. Wilson is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of social workers. She teaches several master's-level courses, equipping students with the knowledge and skills to advocate for and support positive change in their future clients and communities. Through her teaching, research, and practice, Dr. Wilson remains committed to advancing social justice and promoting the well-being of vulnerable populations.
