York N.O.W. (Next. Open. Works.) is York College’s hub for continuing education, workforce training, and community learning. We offer short-term courses, certificates, and skill-building programs designed to help learners upskill, explore new interests, and prepare for today’s workforce without requiring prior college enrollment.

York N.O.W. programs are open to community members, adult learners, working professionals, recent graduates, and current students. Most programs have no admissions requirements, making them accessible whether you are changing careers, re-entering the workforce, or learning something new for personal or professional growth.

No. You do not need to be a York College or CUNY student to enroll in York N.O.W. courses. Our programs are designed to be open-access and community-focused, with many offerings specifically created for non-traditional learners and working adults.

York N.O.W. offers programs across three areas:

• York-NEXT – Career advancement and upskilling (e.g., certificates, industry-aligned training, professional development).
• York-OPEN – Creative exploration, lifelong learning, and community enrichment.
• York-WORKS – Job-ready training, employment support, and workforce pathways, including partnerships with employers and industry organizations.

Programs range from short workshops to multi-week certificates, with options for evening, weekend, hybrid, and online learning.
