York MSW Student Makes CUNY 'Heroes' List

Nekhidia Harris, now completing her first semester as a graduate student at York College, has been making news ever since she started at York in the fall (2019); is now a CUNY ‘Hero.”

Harris, who was born with an illness that stunted her growth and the startling prognosis that she would only live three days, is thriving as a student and as an advocate and philanthropist. She is a warm, engaging member of the York family.

“I always felt like it was my responsibility to speak up if I see something that isn’t right, and to help others,” said Harris. “That’s just always been me. I like to help others. That’s been instilled in me since I was young.” See Full Story
