Kudos to York Student and Poet on her first Book!

York College student and New York City Youth Poet Laurette, Camryn Bruno, has published her first book of poetry, a benefit of her Laurette responsibilities.

The book, Queen Bee Cavity contains all-new material composed for this collection, released on November 22 (2019) by Penmanship Books. Bruno's poems typically examine social issues that affect the rights of women, people of color and other historically marginalized groups. Bruno has also released an animated version of "Genesis" a poem from Queen Bee Cavity. Along with her demanding academic schedule, the Communications Technology junior has had to juggle numerous invitations for live performances across the city, all while writing Queen Bee Cavity, she reveals. “It was difficult to find the time,” said Bruno, of the 21-poem collection.”

For those unaware, Bruno is the 2018-2019 NYC Youth Poet Laureate; the Trinidad and Tobago First Citizens National Poetry Slam Champion of 2017 and Ms. Tobago Heritage Personality Queen of 2017. Her first publication Queen Bee Cavity is available through her website
