Dr. Roberts-Semple Profiled in GeoScience Publication

Dr. Dawn Roberts-Semple is featured in the Summer 2021 edition of the GAEA "Where Are They Now" series.

Professor Semple-Roberts (Department of Earth and Physical Sciences), one of York's dedicated STEM faculty members, appears on pages 11 through 12, as a past recipient of the Association for Women Geoscientists Jeanne Harris Chrysalis Scholarship.

An environmental scientist with an interdisciplinary background, her research focus is "on the meteorological impacts on particle-and gas-phase air pollutant concentrations, and their cumulative effects on respiratory health."

She notes that her teaching interests in the Geosciences include natural landscape processes, land-use change, and urban environmental issues of energy and resource consumption. She is currently exploring the use of low-cost technology to monitor air pollution.

She has published and presented prolifically in her still-young career and is a dedicated mentor to her students. Read the article in the summer quarterly.
