Dr. Chirico Gets Italian Heritage Award from Hostos CC

Kudos to Dr. Donna Chirico (Psychology) on her recent award from the president of Hostos Community College!

"After months of waiting to accommodate COVID restrictions, I had lunch at Hostos last week with President [Daisy] De Filippis and she presented me with my award as a Hostos Italian Heritage and Culture Month honoree," said Professor Chirico, who worked with President De Filippis, when De Filippis was also a professor at York College.

The honor is well earned. Dr. Chirico is John D. Calandra Italian American Institute Resident Faculty and Italian American Faculty and Staff Advisory Council; Chair, Italian Language Inter-Cultural Alliance, Board of Directors; President, Italian American Studies Association, Executive Committee; Treasurer, National Organization of Italian American Women and National Board of Directors, Secretary.
