York College is officially on the map - literally

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has renamed the Jamaica Center–Parsons/Archer station to Jamaica Center–York College, honoring the College’s 60 years as an anchor institution in Southeast Queens. The terminal station for the E, J and Z lines, and a hub for 30 bus routes, now clearly marks the path for the thousands of students, faculty, staff, and visitors who rely on public transit to reach campus.
With approximately 23,000 weekday riders and about 80 percent of York students using public transportation, the new name strengthens the connection between the College and one of Queens’ busiest transit gateways. It also places York among a select group of CUNY campuses recognized on the iconic subway map.
The renaming celebrates York College’s legacy of opportunity, community partnership, and educational excellence—ensuring that every trip to Jamaica Center also points the way to York College.
