York College VP Ed Rios Honored for Leadership and Service

York College congratulates Vice President for Finance and Administration Eduardo “Ed” Rios on being named one of City & State New York’s 2026 Latino Trailblazers: New York’s Hispanic leaders who are turning heads, published on Monday, September 14.

Rios, who has spent his entire professional career at CUNY, is recognized in the special issue for his leadership, dedication, and impact on student success. At York College, he oversees budgeting, financial operations, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning, and has been instrumental in making the College’s financial decision-making more transparent.

His work has also directly supported students’ well-being and professional growth. Under his leadership, York has expanded its campus food pantry and launched a professional clothing closet to provide students in need with business-appropriate attire for internships, interviews, and jobs.

Before joining York College, Rios served in key administrative roles at Kingsborough Community College, The City College of New York, the CUNY Graduate Center, and the College of Staten Island, building a distinguished record of service across the University.
