York College proudly recognizes Latchman Ramnauth as Employee of the Month for January 2026, celebrating his 40 years of dedicated service.

In his nomination, Kirk Buddy notes that Latchman “consistently demonstrates outstanding performance” in his role, ensuring that “exams, booklets, posters, and flyers are produced accurately, efficiently, and on time.” His “attention to detail, reliability, and strong understanding of printing standards” are essential to supporting the academic and administrative needs of the campus and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations.

Latchman is valued for his service to the York College community. As Kirk Buddy wrote in his nomination, he “consistently provides excellent customer service,” approaching every interaction with a “positive, professional, and respectful demeanor.” His “friendly attitude and calm presence” help ensure requests are handled smoothly and contribute to the welcoming and supportive environment across campus.

His professionalism and leadership within Print Services shine through. He is always prepared and, per Buddy, “he meets deadlines reliably and maintains accuracy even during the busy season,” setting a clear standard for excellence. Through proactive communication, ongoing problem-solving, and a strong commitment to quality, he exemplifies reliability and service-oriented leadership that reflects positively on York College.

His dedication extends beyond daily responsibilities to thoughtful improvements in departmental operations. When Print Services began producing its own campus banners, he suggested “folding the banner material over before installing the grommets,” reinforcing the edges and reducing tearing caused by wind and frequent handling. This simple yet effective idea “extended the lifespan of the banners and improved their overall appearance,” demonstrating his proactive and creative approach to his work.

After four decades at York College, Latchman Ramnauth continues to make a lasting impact through his professionalism, innovation, and unwavering dedication. This recognition honors not only his years of service, but also the excellence he brings to the York College community.
