Dr. Remi Alapo Elected NYASA Vice President, Named 2026 Conference Chair

Dr. Remi Alapo, Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Philosophy, and Anthropology at York College, CUNY, has been elected Vice President of the New York African Studies Association (NYASA), a distinguished organization dedicated to promoting scholarship, teaching, and dialogue on Africa and the global African diaspora.

Dr. Alapo has also been named Conference Chair for the 2026 NYASA Conference, to be held at SUNY Geneseo on October 30–31, 2026. Together, these leadership roles recognize her continued contributions to African studies, academic service, and collaborative scholarship.
