Warren Rolling Named April Employee of the Month

President Claudia Schrader’s ongoing recognition of York College’s dedicated employees continues with the selection of Warren Rolling as April’s Employee of the Month.

A familiar and respected figure within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Mr. Rolling, the CUNY Explorers specialist, plays a vital role in supporting high school students as they prepare for college. Through the CUNY Explorers program, he helps students experience college life firsthand, promotes academic readiness, and encourages self-discovery and leadership development. His work nurtures both academic success and the personal growth essential for long-term achievement.

According to his nomination narrative, Rolling’s impact extends well beyond the classroom. He strengthens college and career readiness by guiding students through the application process, introducing career paths, and teaching essential professional skills. He also fosters meaningful relationships, promotes community engagement, and creates opportunities for cultural enrichment -- helping students gain the confidence and knowledge to thrive at York College and beyond.

Colleagues describe Rolling as “a model of excellent service,” consistently delivering prompt, empathetic, and knowledgeable support to students, staff, and prospective members of the York community. With a proactive and professional demeanor, he anticipates challenges and meets them with confidence and care.

His contributions to team culture are equally valued. Rolling is recognized for his collaborative spirit, clear communication, and adaptability. He is also said to support an inclusive environment, and appreciates diverse perspectives. His presence uplifts team morale, boosts productivity, and helps cultivate a culture of innovation.

In a delightful twist, Rolling also volunteers as York College’s Cardinal Mascot during events when the regular student performer is unavailable. His willingness to literally step into this spirited role demonstrates both his deep pride in York College and his commitment to community.

His supervisor, Reginald Madden, Director of Pre-College Programs, praised Rolling’s initiative:
