PONCE Bank Celebrates Monisha Sherpa's Academic Excellence
Congratulations to Monisha Sherpa, a graduating senior and one of this year’s PONCE Bank Scholars. She is being recognized for her outstanding academic achievements, leadership, and community impact.
As part of its commitment to investing in the city’s diverse communities, Ponce Bank launched a scholarship program designed to enable CUNY students to lay the groundwork for successful careers. Since 2022, the bank has provided scholarship funding for undergraduate students who live in a low to moderate-income community LMI), identify as members of a minority group, and attend any of 12 CUNY senior and community colleges in four boroughs.
“I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for being selected as a recipient of this scholarship from Ponce Bank. I am truly honored and humbled by this recognition, and I want to extend my deepest thanks for your generosity and support,” said Sherpa. “This scholarship will significantly alleviate the financial burden of my education, allowing me to focus more on my studies and less on financial concerns. Your support not only helps me financially but also inspires me to work harder and strive for excellence in my academic pursuits.”
Sherpa is passionate about medical science and majored in biological sciences. “For me, staying open to opportunities has been key. Every twist in my academic path has brought me closer to understanding my passions and reminded me that growth often comes from unexpected places,” she said.
