Widely recognized as a leading O'Keeffe scholar, Dr. Grasso is the author of “Equal Under the Sky: Georgia O'Keeffe and Twentieth-Century Feminism” (University of New Mexico Press, 2017) and “The Artistry of Anger: Black and White Women's Literature in America, 1820–1860” (University of North Carolina Press, 2002). Her presentation reflects years of sustained research and deep engagement with O'Keeffe scholarship.
Professor Grasso's discussion, a captivating journey into O'Keeffe's life as an art student in New York City, was further enriched by her eloquent delivery and a visual showcase of early 20th-century New York City architecture, portraits, letters, and sketches. A Q&A session followed the formal presentation.
