Airport Community Foundation Soccer Game

The Airport Community Foundation (ACF) held a fundraising soccer game on May 3, 2025 at York College.  Several airport entities were engaged in playing and supporting the soccer tournaments.

Participants included JFKIAT, Vantage Airport Group, JFK Millennium Partners, ASAK Solutions, dNata, Swissport, Worldwide Flight Services, Aqueous Solutions, “Metropolitan Airport News,” Airline Vending Services, Inc, the Total Security Concept, KAPS Airport Services, Port Authority of NYNJ, The New Terminal One, DH2, Delta, Herc Rentals, The Ark and a few more.     

York’s own Provost Derrick Brazill did several cameo shots with the Aviation High School principal Steve Jackson, the CEO of JMP Millenium Partners, Steve Thody, The GM of Operations at PANYNJ, Theresa Rizzuto., and the Regional VP of and Swissport, Kim Yan.  

The Airport Community Foundation (ACF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing local communities surrounding the metropolitan New York airports. The foundation focuses on programs that promote aviation and airport workforce development, education and training, and local quality-of-life initiatives.  ACF has donated more than $100,000 to local charities and the airport organizations. 

Raymond Ringston of Airport Media Inc., one of the three Executive Board Members of ACF, is instrumental in maintaining relationships with the airport community including York College, CUNY. 

Several York students volunteered to welcome guests and provide directions.  Many thanks go to Aviation Management Graduate student Laquana Chappelle, who made tee shirts with the York College emblem and welcomed everyone entering the game.  She and Undergraduate student, Dominique Quarles gave out and collected tickets for the headcount and well as assisted the food vendors.  Other York Aviation Management volunteers included Yan Sun and Steve Almachi.  Nya McDowell and Nicole Russell from York College’s Project Serve, was on site to volunteer with the set up of additional games and engagement of the soccer guests and players.

It was truly a team sport on and off the field.
