Adjunct Prof. Andrew "Sekou" Jackson Honored for Contributions to Library Science
Congratulations to York adjunct professor and alumnus Andrew "Sekou" Jackson on his recent and significant award from the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies (GSLIS) at Queens College!
Professor Jackson, retired executive director of the Langston Hughes Community Library and Cultural Center in Corona, Queens, is the lead editor of the newly published Handbook of Black Librarianship: Third Edition.
He currently teaches in York College's Black Studies program and is retired from Queens College, where he is designated a Distinguished Alumnus. He is also a former faculty member in the Graduate School of Library and Information Studies, from which he earned his graduate degree in Library Science.
