Adjunct Faculty, Thinh Vu, joins the editorial board of BMC Public Health

Thinh Vu, a faculty member at York College's Department of Health and Human Performance, has been appointed to the editorial board of BMC Public Health, a leading open-access journal dedicated to global public health research. This appointment recognizes his contributions to the field and marks a new chapter in his career. In addition to this new role, he currently serves as an academic editor at PLOS ONE since August 2023.

An expert in mental health, substance use, and HIV research, Vu focuses on health disparities and community interventions to improve public health outcomes among marginalized communities in low-resource settings. With a strong publication record of 29 peer-reviewed papers and a book, he has made contributions to the field. As an adjunct faculty member at York College, he is collaborating with local and international health organizations to address critical public health issues. He has received numerous awards for his contribution to public health, including the Emerging Professional Award 2023 from UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, the Young Professional Award in International Health at American Public Health Association Meeting & Expo 2024, and the 40 Under 40 Public Health Catalyst Award 2024 from the Boston Congress of Public Health.

In his role on the BMC Public Health editorial board, Vu will be responsible for furthering the journal's strategic direction. He will contribute to the peer review process by assessing manuscripts and assigning and working with reviewers to ensure the publication of high-quality research that addresses global health challenges.
