Graduating Seniors from Summer and Fall Semesters Celebrated at Joyful Event
The Office of Student Activities and the 2025 Senior Class Committee hosted a Senior Luncheon in the decorated Faculty Dining Room, which was themed as a winter wonderland.
Members of the 2025 senior class celebrated for their outstanding achievement.
The event, held on December 3, was designed to celebrate the summer and fall graduates of York College/CUNY. More than 300 attendees, including friends, faculty, staff, and guests, gathered to honor the graduates. The event featured a catered lunch, holiday games, and dancing.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Rachael Walton of York’s Office of Student Activities, told the seniors to, “Be proud of who you are, proud of graduating from York College, and proud of all you’ve accomplished and overcome. And promise to pay it forward.”
The event was emceed by graduating Nursing student Kalida Clarke-Gittens, who shared her reflections on late-night study sessions, building lasting bonds, and expressing gratitude for the support systems that helped her and her peers throughout their journey at York. “Let us give thanks for the opportunities we’ve had, the challenges we’ve overcome, the friendships we’ve made, and the promise of a brighter future,” said Ms. Clarke-Gittens.
Hopeton Allen, director of the S.E.E.K. program and a York alumni, shared his thoughts on the importance of support and perseverance throughout the academic journey. York College Radio provided entertainment.
