Dr. Drago Publishes New Book

Congratulations to Dr. Margarita Drago on her new book, "Fragmentos de la memoria. Mi vida en dos batallas!"(Buenos Aires, 2022).

This new work is an expanded edition of the book "Memory Tracks: Fragments from Prison" (1975-1980), published in NY, in 2007, by Editorial Campana.

According to Dr. Drago, "the book synthesizes the five years in prison that the author suffered, in two Argentine prisons, during the years of state terrorism in the nation’s Southern Cone." This newly-revised and expanded edition incorporates into the initial text, a love story lived in prison, an act condemned by the prison authorities, the national institutions, and society in general at that time. In Dr. Drago’s own words, “Narrating the first edition of "Memory Tracks," was a long and painful process. More intense, painful, and long was recounting the love story that was born in prison and the internal wars fought in prison and outside of it, with the burden of guilt, stigma and self-condemnation.”

Kudos to Dr. Drago for her ongoing scholarship on that period of her life.
