Michael DeVeaux, Ph.D.

The Social Work Department invites you to a 30 minute presentation by Dr. Michael DeVeaux.

Dr. DeVeaux has an extensive background working with men and women impacted by the criminal justice system. His research interests include hyper-incarceration's impact on the African American community, Black male incarceration, community reintegration of Black male incarcerates, incarceration policy, and class/racial inequality.

Dr. DeVeaux has researched the components of success post-prison as defined by formerly incarcerated Black men who have lived productive lives in their communities.

Dr. DeVeaux received his doctorate from CUNY Graduate Center.
