Eva Cristina Vásquez, Ph.D. in Theatre (CUNY, 2001), specializes in Puerto Rican and Latinx theater. She is an Associate Professor at York College, CUNY, where she coordinates the Puerto Rican Studies Program. She has served in various leadership roles, including the York College Senate and CUNY Council on World Language Study. Active in New York’s theater scene, she has collaborated with multiple companies and co-founded Teatro Círculo, where she coordinates educational initiatives. A playwright and scholar, her works have been staged and published, including Pregones Theatre: A Theatre for Social Change in the South Bronx (Routledge, 2003). She has participated in major academic conferences and editorial boards and has received numerous awards, including the Latin Alternative Theater Award (2024) and the Thalía Award (2023).
