Academic Partners of the Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) for high school students at York College

College Now

College Now offers college credit classes, usually general education requirements needed to graduate from college (also called Pathways). These offerings include introductory college classes in psychology, sociology, biology, history, mathematics, Health Education, and others.

NSF S-STEM Scholarship Program

The NSF S-STEM Program at York College, CUNY is a grant-funded program sponsored by the National Science Foundation that will award scholarships to academically talented students with demonstrated financial need. The Program will also provide a range of curricular and co-curricular interventions to increase retention and graduation rates and facilitate the pursuit of graduate degrees and careers in STEM.

Junior Science and Humanities Symposia (JSHS) Program

JSHS is designed to challenge and engage students (Grades 9-12) in science, technology, engineering or mathematics (STEM). Individual students compete for scholarships and recognition by presenting the results of their original research efforts before a panel of judges and an audience of their peers.

Summer Research Program

The York College Summer Research Program is an annual event designed to provide research opportunities to undergraduate and high school students. This program provides undergraduate students from York College and high school students with an opportunity to conduct supervised research and present their findings to the York College community.

NASA MAA: K1-12 STEM Education Project

The goal of the current NASA MAA (Version 2.0) is to utilize NASA’s unique resources to build the interest, skills and knowledge necessary for K1-12 students to pursue STEM careers by engaging them in authentic STEM experiences built around NASA mission content and the NASA Communication Campaigns.
