High School Summer Application Form
Apply to the JFK Redevelopment Aviation and Aeronautics Academy at York College today!
Before applying, please be aware of the $1,200 stipend and college credit conditions outlined below:
- Commitment Requirement: Participants are expected to fully commit to the program, which includes regular attendance and active engagement.
- Absence Policy: A maximum of two excused absences will be permitted with valid doctor’s notes.
- Research Presentation: Participants will collaborate in small groups (3-4 students) to conduct research and deliver a presentation.
- Stipend Distribution: The stipend will be awarded upon successful completion of all program requirements, including the research presentation.
- College Credit: Students who complete the coursework with a final grade of D or better will earn three college credits. As far as transferability is concerned, that will be at the discretion of the institution where the student enrolls. Typically, most institutions will transfer coursework with grades of B or better, however this is not a guarantee. Students who enroll at a CUNY campus can view T-REX to see where the coursework transfers.
College Courses
- Business 160: This course introduces students to the business discipline. This a survey course and will cover topics from Marketing, Entrepreneurship, International Business, Economics, and Information Systems Management.
- Aviation 250: This course develops the aeronautical background necessary to understand the basics of flight and an understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations and National Airspace
The program will conclude with a graduation ceremony on August 8.
