Frank Pomilla Award for Science Teaching Scholarship

This award is in honor of Dr. Frank Pomilla, Emeritus Professor of Physics and a founding member of York College. He was the first chair of the original Department of Natural Sciences.

To award and recognize academic excellence and to provide financial aid to students who have made a commitment to teaching science, especially physics.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Full-time Student (Must be registered for at least 12 credits)
  2. Junior class standing (excluding graduating seniors)
  3. Student must be a Natural Science major, preferably in Physics with a minor in Education
  4. Must have a G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher

One letter of recommendation is required from a faculty in science and/or education in addition to the completion of the RECOMMENDATION FORM and return them to: ScholarshipApplications@york.cuny.edu
