Robert Clovey teaches individual income taxation and all areas of financial accounting (principles through advanced accounting) at the undergraduate level. He also teaches international accounting and advanced financial accounting theory at the graduate level. His research interests include income tax and accounting education – teaching and learning of accounting through applied scholarship. He is currently working on a paper on students’ perceptions of skills acquired after participating in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, and another one on the impact of the VITA program on students’ interest in the study of income tax. In addition, he has published three articles in the CPA Journal on recent changes in the IRS tax code.
